JT Multisport April 2022 Newsletter
April 2022
Historically April is one of our bigger months. With the huge February and March and a couple of long weekends, April gave us a chance to breathe and prepare for our end of season races. Blake kicked things off in the Gold Coast claiming another medal with third in his age group capping off a cracking first year of triathlon. Following our Easter break, Joe and coach JT travelled to SOPAC to take part in the Australian Masters Swimming Championships tallying one gold and two silver medals on their return.
The end of April saw our focus shift back to triathlon where Imogen and Talia continued their teamwork up in Wollongong to claim 1st and and 2nd in their age groups respectively before Tracy claimed her first professional win at Bussleton 100. The remainder of our April was spent preparing for one of our biggest races of the season in Port Macquarie. If you haven’t seen how things panned out, scroll through our socials and hang out for the recap in our May newsletter!

Athlete Spotlight
Yoann Colin
Ask Yoann to tell you a little about JTM and you’ll get some stories. As one of the clubs longest serving members Yoann has seen some growth in the club. Similarly, we’ve seen huge growth in Yoann’s triathlon. From a promising age group triathlete we’ve seen Yoann claim national championships, a world championship medal to professional podiums and wins.
This week we see Yoann take the next step in his racing career traveling to Europe and Africa to take on the best in the world. His stint kicks off in Fréjus, France racing for Versailles in the division 1 French Grand Prix. We can’t wait to see what Yoann can accomplish over the next few months.
End of Season Awards
As our triathlon season winds down we invite everyone to vote for our JTM male and female performances of the year. This year’s nominees includes some exceptional performances from the 20/21 season which we couldn’t recognise at the end of last season due to covid restrictions. Congratulations to all our nominees.

Training Tools
How often are you changing your run shoes? One of the biggest injury risks we see are athletes running too many kms in their shoes. We recommend changing shoes every 800km to ensure compacting foam is replaced. If your current shoes haven’t been giving you any dramas your best bet is to change to a new pair of the same model. If you are having trouble with your shoes seek professional guidance and remember to gradually rotate in a new pair of shoes when making substantial changes.
