JT Multisport October 2022 Newsletter
JTMers have had a big month and we have kicked off the 22/23 season with a bang! Local racing at the Jackie Fairweather memorial triathlon (turned duathlon) brought out a strong support crowd and a range of excellent results from those who raced. We maxed out Interclub series points and with high hopes of defending the Interclub title we are gearing up for Canberra’s next local race: Bring on Summer.
Our athletes continue to reach new heights on the race course with Josie Pepper on debut for Butterfields in the National Road Series and Jarrod Osborne racing the Noosa Triathlon in his first race as a professional. Jack Westhorpe raced Ironman Kona and can confirm that ‘The Energy Lab’ is as hot as everyone says, but completely worth all the commitment and sacrifice to race on the big island - Hawaii.
Ashleigh Webb got off to a great start whilst swimming the English Channel but unfortunately got sick and wasn’t able to complete her swim. Ash raised $20,000 for The Kallan Lodge Library and will be heading back to the Channel in 2023 with teammate, Neil Papenfus.
We’re looking forward to continuing a busy period of racing in November with Little Husky, Melbourne 70.3 and Bring on Summer!
