This June was a month of celebration. We celebrated having our squad back together after a squad break as well as the 22/23 seasons at both the JTM Gala and TACT awards night. These nights are a great opportunity for our athletes to celebrate with their squadmates and the broader triathlon community.

In what was one of the highlights of our year Myles Wood (AUS), Polly Templeton (AUS) and Yassin Ezzat (EGY) made the journey to Abi Dhabi to represent their home countries. Continuing our run of AG World Championship medals at WT grand final events, Myles stormed home to take the silver medal in the 20-24 age group.

Local racing at the Jackie Fairweather memorial triathlon (turned duathlon) brought out a strong support crowd and a range of excellent results from those who raced. We maxed out Interclub series points and with high hopes of defending the Interclub title we are gearing up for Canberra’s next local race: Bring on Summer.

Read MoreWhat an up and down start for 2022! The year started with a bang and one of our best camps ever in Falls Creek, Victoria. We spent the week climbing mountains, running trails and swimming in the Rocky Valley Dam. This year teams were competing for the coveted rainbow bandana. Congratulations to team red for taking the title this year and to Bell Roche and Jarrod for being awarded camp MVPs! We’re already looking forward to next year.

With squad sessions now back to normal in Canberra and our first race for the season under our belt there is a sense of normality in the air. Our weeks of lockdown have given us all a good opportunity to reassess our goals and priorities and it’s been great to see everyone coming out of lockdown with great motivation to be their best this season - joined by a few new faces!
